                  Book Description

Ionic Liquids in Organic Synthesis brings together leading scientists who have made major contributions to the field of ionic liquids. This book assembles several new methodologies that are interdisciplinary by nature, discussing the unique properties of ionic liquids and the ways in which
they induce significant solvent effects on a wide range of pf processes. Twenty-two chapters are included. Ionic Liquids in Organic Synthesis covers areas of rapid progress and industrial importance. Ionic liquids are emerging as novel replacements for volatile organic compounds traditionally used
as industrial solvents this book will elaborate on this subject while also examining practical synthetic applications of ionic liquids. This field has been an important topic of research for scientists in both industry and academia over the past 30 years and continues to grow.

                    Book Description

The study of conductive polymers is a rapidly growing area in polymer chemistry. Since conductive polymers carry a charge, they are used in a wide variety of applications. This book examines a subset within the area of conductive polymers: the electrochemistry that occurs at the interface between conductive polymers and solutions. Topics include synthesis and characterization as well as applications in artificial muscles, electrocatalysis, sensor design, and corrosion prevention.

                          Book Description

This book is an introductory manual for Ion Assisted Deposition (IAD) procedures of thin films. It is addressed to researchers, post-graduates and even engineers with little or no experience in the techniques of thin film deposition. It reviews the basic concepts related to the interaction of low energy ion beams with materials. The main procedures used for IAD synthesis of thin films and the main effects of ion beam bombardment on growing films, such as densification, stress, mixing, surface flattening and changes in texture are critically discussed. A description of some of the applications of IAD methods and a review of the synthesis by IAD of diamond-like carbon and cubic-boron nitride complete the book.

The illustrations are what caught my eye with this book about a hermit crab's quest to find a new home. The cover shown above gives you an idea of the detailed artwork within. At the end of the book are line drawings explaining the various plants and animals that live in a coral reef. My 7 yo daughter has been enjoying this book for a couple of years now. A nice simple story.

                            5 out of 5 stars A very highly recommended story of problem-solving & change........2002-03-30

Hermit crab loves his shell but he's outgrown it - he sets out to seek a replacement but finds only another crab with the same problem. Very simple text and large color illustrations of coral reef life accompany a story of problem-solving and change.

                                Book Description

On the demand side, exporters and strategic planners focusing on bones, horns, ivory, hooves, claws, coral, and shells in Australia face a number of questions. Which countries are supplying bones, horns, ivory, hooves, claws, coral, and shells to Australia? How important is Australia compared to others in terms of the entire global and regional market? How much do the imports of bones, horns, ivory, hooves, claws, coral, and shells vary from one country of origin to another in Australia? On the supply side, Australia also exports bones, horns, ivory, hooves, claws, coral, and shells. Which countries receive the most exports from Australia? How are these exports concentrated across buyers? What is the value of these exports and which countries are the largest buyers? This report was created for strategic planners, international marketing executives and import/export managers who are concerned with the market for bones, horns, ivory, hooves, claws, coral, and shells in Australia. With the globalization of this market, managers can no longer be contented with a local view. Nor can managers be contented with out-of-date statistics which appear several years after the fact. I have developed a methodology, based on macroeconomic and trade models, to estimate the market for bones, horns, ivory, hooves, claws, coral, and shells for those countries serving Australia via exports, or supplying from Australia via imports. It does so for the current year based on a variety of key historical indicators and econometric models. In what follows, Chapter 2 begins by summarizing where Australia fits into the world market for imported and exported bones, horns, ivory, hooves, claws, coral, and shells. The total level of imports and exports on a worldwide basis, and those for Australia in particular, is estimated using a model which aggregates across over 150 key country markets and projects these to the current year. From there, each country represents a percent of the world market. This market is served from a number of competitive countries of origin. Based on both demand- and supply-side dynamics, market shares by country of origin are then calculated across each country market destination. These shares lead to a volume of import and export values for each country and are aggregated to regional and world totals. In doing so, we are able to obtain maximum likelihood estimates of both the value of each market and the share that Australia is likely to receive this year. From these figures, rankings are calculated to allow managers to prioritize Australia compared to other major country markets. In this way, all the figures provided in this report are forecasts that can be combined with internal information sources for strategic planning purposes.

                                  Book Description

On the demand side, exporters and strategic planners focusing on bones, horns, ivory, hooves, claws, coral, and shells in Belgium face a number of questions. Which countries are supplying bones, horns, ivory, hooves, claws, coral, and shells to Belgium? How important is Belgium compared to others in terms of the entire global and regional market? How much do the imports of bones, horns, ivory, hooves, claws, coral, and shells vary from one country of origin to another in Belgium? On the supply side, Belgium also exports bones, horns, ivory, hooves, claws, coral, and shells. Which countries receive the most exports from Belgium? How are these exports concentrated across buyers? What is the value of these exports and which countries are the largest buyers? This report was created for strategic planners, international marketing executives and import/export managers who are concerned with the market for bones, horns, ivory, hooves, claws, coral, and shells in Belgium. With the globalization of this market, managers can no longer be contented with a local view. Nor can managers be contented with out-of-date statistics which appear several years after the fact. I have developed a methodology, based on macroeconomic and trade models, to estimate the market for bones, horns, ivory, hooves, claws, coral, and shells for those countries serving Belgium via exports, or supplying from Belgium via imports. It does so for the current year based on a variety of key historical indicators and econometric models. In what follows, Chapter 2 begins by summarizing where Belgium fits into the world market for imported and exported bones, horns, ivory, hooves, claws, coral, and shells. The total level of imports and exports on a worldwide basis, and those for Belgium in particular, is estimated using a model which aggregates across over 150 key country markets and projects these to the current year. In doing so, we are able to obtain maximum likelihood estimates of both the value of each market and the share that Belgium is likely to receive this year. From these figures, rankings are calculated to allow managers to prioritize Belgium compared to other major country markets. In this way, all the figures provided in this report are forecasts that can be combined with internal information sources for strategic planning purposes.
