Scientists within the field of plant biotechnology are in a constant search for techniques that can, in the simplest manner possible, answer the genetic and biochemical questions that underlie developmental processes. Thin Cell Layer Culture System not only takes an in-depth look at a technique that has had so much success in attempting, through various practical models and systems, to answer these issues, but also represents a celebration of almost 30 years of research that has covered a massive scope of plant species and areas of study. The initial studies conducted on tobacco thin cell layers (TCLs) - proving that organogenesis can be strictly controlled in vitro - allowed plant research to benefit from this finding, expanding this knowledge in a practical and applied manner into the biotechnological fields of tissue culture and micropropagation, cell and organ genetics and biochemistry. The chapters in this book tell the enigmatic tale of TCLs. An historical perspective opens the scene for an inquiry into the possible cellular, biochemical and genetic processes that allow for the controlled development of a TCL into any organ type. The success of the system is further demonstrated in both monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous species, covering successful organogenesis and in vitro flowering in species within ornamental, leguminous and wood crops, cereals and grasses. Methodologies are outlined in detail, as is the rationale behind the TCL-organogenesis-developmental sequel. The TCL method, shown to be superior to many conventional micropropagation systems, has also shown to be vital in the recovery of transgenic plants. This book is an essential part of every plant, cell and developmental biologist, geneticist and tissue culturalist's shelf as it addresses the primary issue of any plant: the cell, the tissue, and their subsequent development into a highly organized system.

COMC II. The organic chemistry of ruthenium and osmium is an area which has burgeoned during the period since the publication of
COMC. This is especially true for the cluster chemistry of these elements, which have provided most of the advances in this important field. Consequently, this volume will include an update (1981-1993) of the chemistry of mono- and bi-nuclear complexes of ruthenium and osmium, with a rather more extensive treatment of tri- and tetra-nuclear complexes. This is because many of the early results in ruthenium and osmium cluster chemistry described in
COMC are now much better understood and can thus be placed in a more general context. In the case of complexes containing clusters with five or more metal atoms, the coverage is essentially complete, again because this chemistry has developed during the 1980s.

Description:
In this paper, we introduce a fuzzy mathematical programming with generalized fuzzy number as objective coefficients. We also examine a transportation problem with additional restriction. There is an additional entropy objective function in the transportation problem besides transportation cost objective function. Using new fuzzy mathematical programming, this multi-objective entropy transportation problem with generalized trapezoidal fuzzy number costs has been reduced to a primal geometric programming problem. Pareto optimal solution of the transportation model is found. Numerical examples have been provided to illustrate the problem.

When our children were little, every Friday evening on NPR radio, Rabbit Ears would share these treasures. The stories are excellent with movie stars reading the story and famous musicians doing the music. It is exciting to have these now on cd's! I love the Talking Eggs!
Just what I was looking for.......2006-09-27
My 3.5 year old son is ready to give up nap, but I wasn't ready to give up my afternoon quiet time. This was the perfect solution. I put one of these CDs in and he lays down and listens. There is nice music throughout and the storytellers all have very pleasant voices. There are 2 CDs in this set, each with over an hour of storytelling. He likes them so much that he frequently gets up after the first CD is over and asks for the other one, so I get 2 hours of quiet and he gets the rest he still needs to get through his day. I will definitely be getting the other CDs in this series.
