    Book Description

This revision of the now classic Plant Anatomy offers a completely updated review of the structure, function, and development of meristems, cells, and tissues of the plant body. The text follows a logical structure-based organization. Beginning with a general overview, chapters then cover the protoplast, cell wall, and meristems, through to phloem, periderm, and secretory structures.

"There are few more iconic texts in botany than Esau’s Plant Anatomy… this 3 rd edition is a very worthy successor to previous editions…" ANNALS OF BOTANY, June 2007

      Book Description

This brief and specialized book was designed for general, non-majors biology courses, and includes a brief history of vascular plant tissues, growth patterns, plant nutrition and transport, plant hormones, reproduction, and development. PLANT STRUCTURE AND FUNCTION covers Chapters 28 - 32 from BIOLOGY: THE UNITY AND DIVERSITY OF LIFE. For the 11th edition of BIOLOGY: UNITY AND DIVERSITY OF LIFE, Cecie Starr and Ralph Taggart made it their goal to "solve" some of the toughest Introductory Biology course challenges. We introduce a new issues-oriented approach with engages students in current, motivating biological topics; a built-in cross-referencing system for key topics; and, most importantly, time-saving media resources for instructors.

                    Book Description

The book’s purpose is to explain from the development of life on earth to the evolution of diversity. It is this diversity that led, almost automatically to the development of pathogens and predators. The relationship of pathogens and host lead to the development of antibiotics and resistance mechanism. Man has extended this process and we now have a situation in which new antibiotics only are effective for a short time. If we are to create long term antibiotics we must design them with this history in mind.

Understanding antibiotic chemotherapy at the ecological level is necessary for more permanent advances in development and in the usage of antibiotic agents both old, new, and in the future.

This book is indented for students at various levels that will be the microbiology researchers in the time to come. Also microbiology professors, particularly those teaching medical microbiology as well as physicians administering antibiotics daily and researchers in the pharmaceutical industry may find this book useful.

Some will say that Celine only had one good book, "Journey to the end of the night". But i belive "Death on Credit" deserves a special credit. The irony runs strong in this book, like in all the Celine works.

                          Just buy it folks.
