I wasn't sure what audience author was trying to target as I read this book. The author tries to simplify too much information that takes entire college courses to understand such as space planning and color. This book is too complicated and dry for the home owner wishing to find information about decorating and is too basic for an interior designer.

A lovely book of rare images of Angkor.......2004-07-10
This is a reproduction of a book printed with only 500 copies in 1909. When these photographs were taken Angkor was still a remote location visited by only a lucky few. The main temple of Angkor wat was still unrestored and in quite a different state from what you see today.
The photos reproduced here are all of excellent quality and large size. If you have visited the Angkor temples then this book is wonderful to browse through and compare to how different they are now that the temples have been restored and cleaned up (and swarming with tourists). Even places like Ta Prohm which tourists like to think as still in pure jungle would be surprised at how much has actually changed from these photos.
If you have ever visited Angkor, or have any interest in the monuments then this book is one you should have a look at for its wonderful and rare images of a lost world.

This is a rare find: a book of beautiful photographs of one of the world's most famous religious monuments. Yet, these were pictures taken almost 100 years ago, long before the Angkor ruins became as famous or as exploited as they are now. The book appeals most to those who have seen the actual ruins. After my recent trip to Cambodia, I delighted in looking over these old photographs, comparing in my mind my travel experiences with those depicted in the book. I was amazed by their similarities, as well as their differences. I almost wished I could have travelled back in time to 1909 to actually witness these awe-inspiring ruins before the advent of mass tourism and commercialization. This tome allows the reader to do just that.
It is a must have for those who have visited these ancient sites and loved them. The quality of the book is very high and the images are superbly reproduced.

As many others have noted it contains very few numerical examples. I didnt have the workbook so maybe that would have helped, but so far this book is completely useless. I wouldnt recommend this unless you really love the pure formulas an no examples. If its required i guess its better than nothing

We used this textbook in my intermediate micro class at Cornell University, and I have to say, it is quite possibly the best textbook I've had. I'm more of a math person myself, and this book did a wonderful job of fleshing out the concepts with mathematical examples. Definitely recommended!

This is the standard intro-level economics textbook at Harvard, and it is well written. Covers all expected topics to good depth, with excellent examples. A reasonably suitable book for reading, and a simply useful textbook. Recommended.

This workbook supplements the Varian textbook, Intermediate Microeconomics. The textbook focuses on the conceptual and this workbook focuses on the mathematical applications of microeconomics. There are numerous problems for each chapter that range from easy to difficult. Unfortunately, the workbook only has the even answers in the back and no explanations for the answers. I believe that the workbook would be extremely valuable if only it had explanations for the answers. Instructors using the workbook do have the detailed explanations to the questions.

This is an excellent workbook to accompany Varian's Intermediate Microeconomics. The reviewers who claim that there are numerous mistakes have clearly done many of the problems incorrectly. In the 5 years that I have used this book, I have found a very small number of mistakes, mostly typographical. Yes, it's a book that has tricky questions. It requires a deep understanding of economic problems, but the point of each example is to illustrate one aspect of the economic concept. If you can get through these problems, you will have a very good understanding of the logic of microeconomics.

I completely agree with what everyone else has said especially, "waste of time, I don'tknow what else to say." It was extremely simple and did have many errors. If you want to check your math microeconomics understanding, buy a copy of Shaum's outlines for Mathematics for Economists.

i agree with all the other people when I say this is one of the worst review books I've ever read. The author uses awkward examples to explain concepts...and what is wrong with those names? shirley sixpack? Ambrose? Vanna Boogie? How about Author Dull? or Iam Perplexed? Even answers are given but it doesnt show how it was derived. And on top of that, I am positive the book contains number of errors. This makes it even more confusing for people trying to learn micro. Stay away from that orange book if you can.

An excellent introduction to Microeconomic analysis........1998-02-13
This is an excellent introduction into the mindset required for thinking the way an economist should. Intuition is encouraged ahead of diagrams and mathematical explanations and as such it helps the reader to learn the material and more importantly teaches them how to think. No other book relating to economic theory that I know of does this as well as Friedmans does. Persist with this book at least until part 4. After the first three sections you should be able to solve any problem requiring microeconomic analysis.

Worst Buy Ever- utterly useless.......2007-10-18
When they say "textbook outlines" they mean they give you blank lined pages to outline YOURSELF! I am not kidding. Is it possible to sue for such misrepresentation?
They have very simple glossaries for each chapter that do not even correspond with the book.
It's intermediate economics and the glossary terms they have are like "market" and "producer" and not the higher level terms in the book that you actually need to know.

Densely written, with an ugly, confusing font, this is certainly one of the worst books I have ever read.
There are no empirical examples. Equations often go interspersed with commentary unrelating to the equations. There are easy, badly designed questions in the back of the book. It simply doesn't teach you how to apply microeconomic theory to the world at all.
Check out Microeconomics and Behavior by Robert H. Frank for a better introduction.
Everything about it bad. Avoid.
