This wonderful coffee table book won't be on the coffee table long! It is chock full of beautiful pictures with practical ideas. Although many of the rooms are decidely high-end, there are several ideas that can be applied to more moderate tastes.
I highly recommend that this book be added to any home design library.

If you enjoyed Spirit of African Design, then you will love this book. There are nice room pictures showing african art in primarily a contemporary design style.
It's a great coffee table book for anyone who loves both African Art styles and contemporary interior design.

This is not the next step for those who have been sponging and doing strié on the wall. This book outlines the top end of decorative finishing. These are difficult-to-master techniques and you should be a trained artist (realistic painter) before attempting much of what is described in this book.

I couldn't wait to get this one! It is very detailed. Teaches you step by step AND gives you the names of all colors used. The method to get to the end result is a bit tricky, the brushes he uses can get very expensive, and I think that there are other ways of getting the same result, without all the expensive brushes.

This is a great book, and I highly recommend it. I have a few books on Faux finishing but they are no where near as complete, and with the others the results can be considered questionable, or shoddy compared to this one. The teachings in this book will astound you. Everything is pictured step by step. You will learn to achieve complete, and believable transformations. There are also some great examples pictured of finished interiors that will inspire you to create.
If your looking for a book on creating fantastic Faux finishes look no further - I assure you this is one to get.

This book had many ideas for various paint effects to help me choose how to paint my bathroom and livingroom. I choose a drag effect for the bathroom and a faux for the livingroom. This book is like a Bible to me and my girl friend. We use it about every day and selling it to some of our customers. This book has so many colors in it and they are true colors to match up with. I think it helps to see the colors that you are looking for not to just read about the color and match it up that way, it is just so handy to look at the colors.

Being an extreme beginner, I was looking for a complete manual to help me start on my new painting "career". After reading and using the material in this book, I consider myself capable of not only producing quality pieces of artwork, but being able to both sell them and be proud to give them as gifts.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who, wants to learn how to paint; needs to find hard to find supplies; needs a color conversion chart or wants a brush-up course on strokework.

This is really great. It is in Greek of course (there is an English one too by Swanson). To be able to see the Gospel of Matthew along the first line, then see what Mark, Luke and John have for a parallel (when they do) it VERY helpful. This is a super study/research tool.
