MRI has become the preferred noninvasive imaging modality for the heart and great vessels. The substantial technological progress achieved in recent years has provided the user with state-of-the-art MRI systems, but their optimal use can be limited by restricted awareness of the potential patient benefit and the necessity for teaching. I have looked at several cardiac MRI books and this is the best I have seen. Still a little wordy, but more practical than the other books out there.

The playful ease and subtle humor of Al Taylor's drawings made him an artist's artist par excellence. When he died of lung cancer at age 51 in 1999, he left a large body of work--of the constructions he thought of as three- dimensional drawings, made of broomsticks and wires and tin cans and linoleum and other clean-lined debris, with which he "drew" in the air; and then piles upon piles of drawings themselves, of which Charles Yoder has written that they are "softly nuanced, surely handled and ever changing." The illustrations here offer highlights from both his estate and private collections, including The Museum of Modern Art, as well as a few sculptural works.

The Best Book on Diana.......2005-08-01
I found this book to be the best Diana book I have read. I do belive this story. I think Diana and Dodi did care for each other and I think Rene is telling it like he saw it. the book lets you see the personal side of Diana as well as Dodi.the book also tells you what happened the night of the crash. this book is the only book on Diana that I did not get bored with.a great love story.
One of the sweetest Diana books - a delightful read........2002-05-31
I've probably read all or nearly all the books on Diana. Somehow I'd missed this one until a friend gave it to me as a gift. While I didn't give it 5 stars for its great literary qualities, I thought that for Diana fans, it delightfully delivered the goods - it is a pleasing intimate portrait with plenty of detail (food, clothes, toiletries, habits) yet with a real sense of affection, humor and respect.
Setting this apart from most Diana books is the uniquely likeable voice of the narrator. Delorm is a class act, a man who respected and liked his boss, Dodi Fayed, and who seems to view everyone from his wealthy employer to his fellow cooks, butlers and masseuses with generosity of spirit and an open mind. This is a refreshing contrast with the self serving busybody tone of Patrick Jephson's Diana book, or any of the royal "experts" who simultaneously envy, fawn and snipe.
The author's joie de vivre and eye for detail turn this book into a lovely little vacation on a yacht, along with two people we might have enjoyed knowing very much. And unlike many books published after their deaths, it does not lay on the pathos, but instead is more of a celebration.
All in all, this is an intimate book you can enjoy without feeling like a voyeur, and a very welcome read for anyone who misses Diana. She sounds like a lot of fun.
A great escape read in these glamour-free times. Highly recommended.
A simple, but affectionate, recollection.......2001-07-06
Rene Delorm, Dodi Fayed's former Butler, was clearly devoted to his former employer and this affection shines through these memoirs.
The scene is well set with a brief thumbnail sketch relating how his and Dodi's paths originally crossed, before the more eagerly-awaited period is focussed upon. Never overstating his case, Delorm recounts the beginnings of Dodi's affair with the Princess of Wales with disarming candour and seems to me conscious of the temptation to embroider upon his recollections or, worse still, hypothesise on what the future for the couple may have held. This temptation he scrupulously avoids and it is to his credit that he refers only to what he saw and heard and shies away from hearsay and speculation.
While necessarily anecdotal in content, the book gives a charming, if simplistic, insight into their last days together and makes an interesting addition to the huge library of titles dealing with the demise of Diana and Dodi, by one who was well-placed to observe their intimacies. Paul Burrell, Diana's Butler, (whom she referred to as her "rock") is arguably in a better position to reveal her state of mind in these last weeks but has, to date, sensitively deferred from comment. Delorm's book, though, is an affectionate and poignant recollection and his grief on hearing the devastating news is tangible.
Diana and Dodi A Love Story.......2000-11-19
This book was very warm, discreet and also revealing of a mgical romance. Anyone that loves Diana will be extremely happy with this book.
In this book you can feel that Diana is being a real person- happy, smiling, laughing, eating, and falling in love, relaxing- an image she never got by hundreds of people- it is sad that her life was cut so short. She was a lovely, gracious woman who left way to early in life. Her time with Dodi- was to start a lifetime of romance that was ever so sweet. that was cut very short too.Now we will never know if they were to ever marry or not.
I am a greatful of Rene for sharing his memories with the world of Diana- allowing people to see and to hear about her romance.
Doomed Duo.......2000-11-07
A starry-eyed account of the doomed pair's romance by Dodi's butler. So protective is Delorm of his late boss that he never mentions model Kelly Fisher, whom he must have known Dodi was two-timing after Diana came along.
But Delorm's devotion can be touching. "You left me," he wrote in the condolence book at Dodi's funeral, and then dissolved into tears.
A very one-sided look into a doomed duo's romance.

Informative yet easy reading.......1998-08-31
While the Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving is a very informative book, it is not the "heavy" reading that one might expect from a PADI manual. The terminoligy and concepts covered in this book nicely suppliment what one learns throughout the recreational diving classes -- novice open water dives, advanced techniques, underwater navigation, and rescue techniques.
I recommend this for divers who have gone through open water and advanced classes (and even Rescue), feeling that they did not get all they could out of the classes and textbook. This book is a must for those wishing to seek a professional dive rating (divemaster and higher), or pursue technical dive certifications.

I read this story thirty years ago and just again reread it. It is just as compelling today and hard to set down once started. Taylor Caldwell's command of words and beautiful descriptions of life in the era it was written is beyond comparison. A vibrant story with a pulse of its own to stir the heart and mind of the reader.

Into the heart of the innocent........1996-11-20
Caroline Ames is yet another one of the innocent characters created by Taylor Caldwell. In this novel she portrays the innocent mind better than in any other book she has written. Caroline is subject to her father's sheltering ways. Her father finds security in money because he was poor as a child, and this security has made him one of the richest men in the world. He wants Caroline to care for his money after he dies, so he forces her into a life-style that is equivalent to the homeless today in hopes that she will learn to appreciate money like he does. Doing this, he shelters her until she knows nothing but what she is taught from him. Her father then dies, and Caroline is forced to survive in a world she knows nothing about or even has the desire to understand. She fights through marriage and torn relationships without realizing that she is wrong in everything she does. The innocent mind is amazing and almost admirable, but Taylor Caldwell gives us a new look at the unknowing mind, showing how what we do not know or understand can ultimately destroy us

Book Description
Monsters beware! Doctor Gorpon has sworn to kill all evil beasts! Nothing pleases him more than to destroy the demonic filth that slithers along the underbelly of Big City. And still more, to do it in the most sickening way possible! It's a disgusting business, but luckily for us pathetic and thankless slugs, the Doc's on the job! The story opens with Gorpon tearing of the head of Mrs. Merdo's husband, Harold, who he claims is really a mutant devil-beast from the fifth dimension. He then makes her sign for it so he can take it for proper disposal. (A bill will be in the mail.) Gorpon then jumps in his muscle-car and speeds to his hidden base. Unfortunately, the lever to his secret door is stuck and his assistant, Glork, can't open it. After he flattens his car against the wall, he fires his lowly assistant. Meanwhile, Doofus and Elrod, two local teenagers, write some metal tunes based on satanic spells and conjure up a demon. Elrod gets eaten alive but doesn't really mind because it's a "pretty damn cool way to go."

MONSTER SLAYING WITH DOCTOR GORPON.......2005-04-12
Artist/Writer Mark Hansen is best known as the Creator of Ralph Snart, that manic character he created for NOW comics in the mid-1980's and recently resurrected. But Hansen created another character, equally as manic and decidedly more violent...the monster slaying Doctor Gorpon. Originally appearing in Eternity Comics in the early 1990's, NOW comics has collected these adventures into a 96 page trade paperback.
Doctor Gorpon is...unusual to say the least. He's about 90% upper-torso with skinny arms and legs, but don't let the look fool you. The Doctor isn't the smartest monster slayer ever, but he's efficient...Gorpon slays monsters by ripping their heads clean off, as he does in the opening pages of the first story. Poor Mrs. Merdo never knew her husband was a monster! After his faithful sidekick destroys the Doc's wheels, he's smashed over the head with a hammer and fired unceremoniously, vowing revenge. Meanwhile the Police Chief wants nothing more than to bring Gorpon in as he considers him a menace. When two metal-head stoners conjure a demon, eating poor Elrod, Gorpon has to save the day. Doofus, the other metal-head, offers himself as Gorpon's new sidekick.
In the second story, Doc's deposed sidekick has vowed revenge by hiring a hit man to take Doc out. Meanwhile a mad scientist has invented a formula which brings a chocolate bunny to life that devours every "hooman" in sight as revenge for years of chocolate bunnies being eaten.
In the last story, Doc takes on Doofus as his new sidekick, even while his old sidekick and the hit man are invading his secret hideout. Doc has a final showdown with the police chief, meanwhile an evil, primordial pond of ooze comes to life intent on killing Doctor Gorpon. Will this be the last adventure of the Doctor? Pick this trade paperback up and see for yourself.
Hilariously violent and chaotic, the adventures of Doctor Gorpon are a wonderful trip back to that period of the late 80's and early 90's when so many small press comic companies were putting out great material without feeling the need to have big-breasted and scantily clad women as the selling point. Marc Hansen's unique art style reminds me of those old "Weird Ohs" trading cards from the 1960's (I'm dating my self now) mixed with a bit of Don Martin of MAD magazine influence. His style is perfectly suited for a book like this and he's certainly one of the most talented cartoonists in comics. What a fun and wild ride!
