Wrong Edition.......2005-10-03
Ordered the ACI 318-02 Concrete code and Amazon sent the most current code, ACI 318-05. Will keep the ACI 318-05 but had to borrow the ACI 318-02 for a specific project. Consumers: Be wary of what edition you order and what edition you recieve from Amazon.

Exactly what I needed. It is pretty difficult to review a specification that you must have.

Essential to every Civil Engineer.......2000-04-02
This is the 1999 edition of The American Concrete Institute's building code for Civil Engineers. This code contains all the requirements and provisions for building based on research and experience and it was compiled by committee number 318 of the ACI. The book also contains a commentary on all the regulations and formulas included. The commentary and the actual code are organized side by side so as to make things easier. The material is also divided into chapters and sections that are all organized in a neat table of contents and index in order to allow for an easy search of a certain subject. Another plus for this book is that everything that has changed from the last edition (1995) so that spotting updates is also easier.

Book Description
Like many people, Heather Williams was not encouraged to embrace her creative side during childhood and as a result turned her back on part of her inner life. Beginning with an explanation of how she reclaimed her artistic impulses, this book invites readers to explore their own resources for creativity. With a·step-by-step approach to personal development in the tradition of Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain and The Artist’s Way, it teaches not only the technical skills needed to draw but also ways to delve into our inner lives for healing and inspiration. The book is divided into three sections: Pencils and Perception (observing and drawing what is seen in the physical world); Crayons and Consciousness (drawing the interior landscape); and Ink and Intuition (drawing on one’s intuitive wisdom). With 300 black-and-white illustrations, this is an easy, fun way to unlock creativity and unleash the spirit.

Draw your way to Wholeness!.......2005-09-07
This book takes a simple idea, (drawing with the left and right hand)and does amazing things. By bypassing the left brain filter, drawing with each hand (and primarily the left if you are a rightie), will reveal what is REALLY going on in you and with you. Her words and work encourage you to draw, without concerns about skill or talent. All artwork is sacred with this tool. I have used it with my own clients and had amazing and powerful results. The truth really hits home with people, and they are able to SEE what is within, and where healing is calling them. I love this technique for myself too. It is an encouraging, spiritually juicy book. I couldn't put it down!
Nurture you own beauty.......2003-02-07
Creativity is the wellspring of our own innate beauty and connection to Creator. Williams gives us simple but powerful tools to nurture, support, and express the Creative Force within each one of us. The nondominant hand work draws out amazing insights into how we can birth our own most powerful Self. Most of all, she gently guides us to create lovely expressions of our Spirit which can utterly transform self-image. Simply the best guide for spiritual self expression available today!
Excellent book.......2003-01-02
Heather Williams has written an excellent book that guides the artist and nonartist alike into the deeper realms of emotional experience. She offers unique insights into seeing, feeling, and intuiting both our inner and outer worlds. The nondominant hand exercises bring out deep wisdom in a powerful way. I highly recommend this book.
Heal At Home.......2002-10-15
Heather Williams has written a book for the private person who wants to increase self knowledge in the privacy of their own home, and at their own speed. The sequence of information allows for the reader to browse and do exercises as they are moved. It gives theory blended in with practical suggestions on how to do your own self discovery, one self determined picture at a time. She is sensitive, thorough in her explanations, and offers her own examples so that the reader is reassured that this is a book for everyone, rather than for acclaimed artists. Ms. Williams stresses that everyone has artistic ability and she shows us inroads to discovery of our unique expression of the art within each of us. This book is more than a self-help manual-- it is a self discovery map for the seeker of self knowledge.
What a Little Pencil Can Do For You!.......2002-09-28
"Williams emphasizes that readers should be patient and gentle with themselves during their artistic explorations, and she reminds all-thumbs aspirants that 'there's nothing wrong with stick figures.' This accepting book is packed with dozens of exercises and hundreds of evocative drawings, thus favorably recalling Julia Cameron's "The Artist's Way. Not to be used as an instructional drawing guide, this is recommended for all self-help collections."

Customer Reviews:
excellent , practical, logical how to book on Photoshop.......2007-06-26
I have used many Photoshop "how to" books and while many are helpful, some get so complex in their explanations that your eyes glass over. As any photoshop user knows there are many ways to do the same thing in photoshop. This book however seems to have found the easier and logical way in most instances. He uses layers and fills extensively and burns back what is not wanted. By the end of the book I was comfortable assessing the pictures and guessing how he would do the changes. While he sticks with outdoor photography most tips are applicable to any photography. "Outdoor Photographer Landscape and Nature Photography" is A PHOTOGRAPHER'S GUIDE to photoshop not a photoshop guru's guide to photoshop applications to photography. The Pro Tips through out were an extra
great book - if you already know the basics.......2007-04-03
Very helpful book if you already know the basics of CS2. If you're just starting into the program in terms of photo editing, I'd recommend Scott Kelby's guide instead. One thing that Kelby's book lacks however, is a suggested workflow which is covered nicely in this book. If you are new to the software (or new to photo editing), you may find Sheppard's example pictures a little hard to interpret, in fact many of the "before and after" photos look so similar that you may have a hard time telling them apart! In reality, his examples are good, however. The book isn't aimed at people trying to fix heinous pictures and make them "ok," rather it is about using the power of the software to really bring out the best in an already technically good photograph. It has a good section on Camera RAW as well, especially if this is the first time you'd be using it. I actually got both books at once and find myself using this one to help establish a routine, and Kelby's to help with all of the individual situations that come up that may need some work. They are both good, it is just a matter of asking yourself which you need the most help with.
Photoshop truly for photographers.......2007-01-10
I really like this book and even though I have a dozen books and references for Photoshop CS2 this one it the bible for me. It takes more than a little while to plough through this book, but if you are serious about your digital photography, this will do the trick. If your looking for the "quick and dirty" solution, this isn't it. He really spends his time talking to the photographer in you.
Outdoor Photographer Landscape and Nature Photography with Photoshop CS2.......2007-01-03
Our studio has purchased two high end SLR digital cameras. Both have given us fits because of the quality of the photographs we were getting. For many years we have been using fine Hassleblad cameras that provided excellent quality. This book has helped me understand our digital cameras and improving the quality of our work. I have studied Ansel Adams books and work for years. Rob's equating digital to Ansel Adams' work was a great help. This is a great book for one who is going from film to digital photography.

Excellent Book.......2006-11-10
Overall I'm quite satisfied with this book. I like the way the author compares working in Photoshop with the way Ansel Adams worked in the darkroom. I had always considered 'Photoshopping' a picture in a negative light, and the descriptions and examples in this book completely changed my opinion. The techniques described are really nothing more than the digital equivalent of what master photographers have done with film for years. The book has excellent examples of how to get the most out of any digital image.

Subaru's hospitalization following the Sunshine 60 showdown causes Kamui to agonize over his responsibility to his friend. As part of the X/1999 series, this adventure features breathless action and stunning art.
Customer Reviews:
it's the best!.......2004-04-18
Intence action and dramatic scenes- this book has it all. Subaru vs Nataku, Subaru vs Fuma- what can be cooler? Also we have lots of cute scenes, like Kamui holding Subaru's hand and when Yuzuriha-chan comes to visit Subaru in the hospital. And of course the *promising* dialog between Fuuma and Seishirou. What else is needed?
X is wonderful times three!!.......2004-01-26
I have loved X since I saw the dubbed version on Showtime. I went out and rented the DvD twice and watched it. Then I got into the manga and it's wonderful!
This installment becomes very graphic and should be read by mature audiences only! For intance, Subaru gets one of his eyes poked out! Aww...
Anywho, it's a wonderful book. Kamui begins to take some responcibility over his actions. At least he dosen't just sit there and watch his friends get murdered this time!
its a great installment. A must-have for the whole series. Enjoy!
X rocks my socks.......2003-12-24
I absolutely love X. This volume makes me love it even more.
Many things about Kamui the Dragon of Earth are revealed (he also becomes the hottest thing that ever lived as he changes his wardrobe). Subaru gets a serious injury which is followed up by one of the sweetest scenes I've ever read. This volume also brought me to tears twice. Poor Keiichi, that's all I'm going to say. One part made me crack up, though. It's a scene between Seishiro and Fuuma, and I love reading it over and over and over...
*cough* Anyway... there's also more development of Kamui's character, and an interesting comparison of him now versus him in the first book. ^_~ Looks like Saiki finally admits that this is the true Kamui.
The artwork, as always, is amazing. Some of the things Viz did with printing this book pisses me off, though. On the back it says, "Subaru is hospitalized in the aftermath of his showdown against Seiichiro..." *_* It was SEISHIRO, not Seiichiro! -.-
Oh well. This book really is a gem, but keep in mind it's rated 16+!
Well, if it isn't my favorite volume........2003-11-29
Hmmm. Very mixed feelings about this one.
First off, it's AWESOME if you're a Subaru fan. And it's AWESOME if you haven't picked up and perused the original Japanese work and clonked through the translations on your own. It's nice to be able to effortlessly read it in my native tongue, I'll tell you that!
However....
It's been bugging me since it came out that this particular series is being printed in the order of an American comic novel. I never realized how much it would annoy the piss out of me to see Subaru proclaim that it's his left eye that's blind.
I keep flashing back to the original Japanese and screaming "Right! Right! It's supposed to be right!"
Also, a few of the translations seem a bit wrong, but overall...
*glomps 'Movement'* I love it!
However, you die-hard Kamui fans... YES, HE HAS A SPINE! For, like, one page. But it's still worth the look. :) And Yuzu-chan's so damned cute creating her kekai. *gush*
Gaw, now I can't wait for 13. Hurry up, damn it! *kicks Viz*
