Book Description
This book documents the transformation that Balinese architecture and interior design have undergone over the past five years. Cleaner lines, more imaginative use of space, A-frame roofs, and the use of stone, concrete, and ceramic roof tiles are increasingly visible along with the traditional coconut wood, teak, and thatching.

Interior Designers Must Have.......2007-02-22
Great photography and awesome scenarios. It really brings the feeling of being in Bali. And the decorations show the artistic side of the new interiors of the open living. It inspires my clients when they come inside my furniture store. Of the books I have from Bali, this is certainly the encyclopedia of interior design!
There's no place like Bali..........2000-05-05
Many westerners have set up homes in Bali, which have long been a magnet for western culture-hound. Here, writer and photographer showcase what the island's most inspiring examples of contemporary residences, shops, restaurants and of course the beautiful resorts that Bali is renowned. The work is well researched, featuring architectural and interior detailing of cross cultural legacy and an amalgamation of both modern and traditional. The text includes little stories of origins and legends. And as always, Lucca Invernizzi Tettoni's superb photography, mostly outdoor shots of the creme de la creme of Bali's private and resort landscaped gardens. This work captured all parts of the Balinese tropical living experience, proving why Bali is often remembered as the place to rejuvenate the soul.
Bali,Modern The Art of Tropical Living.......2000-04-03
This is just what the doctor ordered for enthusiasts of tropical decor and culture. By focusing on the use of modern (alibet, longer lasting) building materials with techniques designed to provide a tropical ambiance is neat. It's not something that I have found elsewhere. It would also be nice to provide some interior decorating schemes to be translated into the American shopping market using or importing accessories from the Bali region or using alternative sources for the "tropical" look from other areas, i. e., the British West Indies, the Caribbean, major U.S. catalogues, etc.
Thanks for the opportunity to comment.

A great starting point.......2007-09-02
This book is a great starting point for kids to get a handle on drawing. My 6 year old and 4 year old love it! They use this book nearly every day to help with their drawings. Art is not my thing, so it even helped me!
Great buy!.......2007-07-02
My son's preschool has this book and when I saw what he could draw from it, I knew I had to get it. He has never been much into drawing, but with the help of this book, he really enjoys it! It's a great book!
Wonderful.......2007-04-16
I bought this for my almost 5 year old daughter who loves to color and draw. At kindergarten round up the teacher was telling us how important it is to teach your child how to draw step by step. I think this book is exactly what we needed. My daughter likes how the pictures turn out and she is able to follow the directions 1,2,3,4 with some help.
Excellent tool for 5-9 set.......2006-11-05
My daughter loves to draw but gets frustrated when her attempts are not recongizable to others. This book breaks down each animal into simple shapes a child can copy. It is easy to follow and my daughter has been pleased with her results. I have seen an improvement in her drawing ability and confidence to try more difficult things.
Very good instructions and entertainment.......2006-01-29
My son is 6 years old and he loves this book. The instructions are very clear, he has no difficulty in following them. He has created dozens of pictures since buying the book and is quite happy to spend hours simply making pictures. He gets a real sense of accomplishment from being able to create the pictures. I highly recomend this book.

I can draw animals.......2000-07-16
I really love this book. Every time my daughters asked me to make a drawing of an animal, I would come up with a "kindergarden look kind of drawing". With this book, I have been able to draw animals that really look neat and realistic, and the steps are extremely simple to follow. I bought some other drawing books, but even though the drawings are more sophisticated, the instructions and steps are much more complicated. I think, on its kind, its a great book, very easy to follow, and with very rewarding results.

Why We Love Dogs:A Bark and Smile Book.......2000-03-02
I adored this book. Kim has the ability to show us the feelings, emotion and humor dogs possess. The black and white photography is beautifully done. I wish she would take pictures of my pooch! Thanks, Kim!
Honest Dog Photography (from their point of view).......1999-12-23
Kim's pictures are incredible. They capture the essence and character of each pooch in a way that I've never seen a photographer do. Almost each picture made me laugh until I cried, because I recognize each expression. We all love dogs for the same reasons, but this book collects those reason visually, in a wonderfully feel-good way. It's completely uplifting and happy.
Book Description
IT'S A BIG WORLD OUT THERE--SOMEBODY'S GOT TO EAT IT!
There's never been a lasagna GARFIELD couldn't tackle, a burger he couldn't capture. GARFIELD always rises to the challenge--and so do the pounds! So whether he's cleaning his plate (and John's plate, and the neighbors' plates), prodding Odie to fetch an oncoming train, or celebrating his one-millionth meal of the day, GARFIELD's the cat that just doesn't stop--eating, that is!

Great being a Garfield fan.......2005-08-10
Have been for a long time now and i'm glad that i decided to start back. Buying the books and its really convenient with them being released in a 3 pack. Its like a bunch of classics all wrapped together, love it.
Excellent!.......2005-07-28
My son recently became interested in Garfield, and he just loves the books. Its fun and very easy reading, so he enjoys it, while still practicing his reading skills. Its the best of both worlds! The service was great, the shipping was very quick, and the quality of the book was excellent. Thank you for putting many smiles on our faces!
Another stunning achievement for author Jim Davis!.......1999-04-03
This book left me breathless! I was stunned! A perfect blend of comedy, drama, and even science fiction! Everything was written just as it was should have been written. Genius. Simply genius. Pure genius.
Another fine literary drama by Jim Davis.......1999-04-01
The saga of Garfield, Odie, and Jon continues. This dramatic and moving yet highly disturbing portrait of late-nineties domestic suburban sexual denial forces the reader to delve into his/her own tortured sexual psyche, much like Catherine and Heathcliff but as a trio each exploring their own unrequieted desire. The tension is unbearable, and Garfield's repeated replacement of food for sexual yearning is telling of late twentieth-century sexuality. Odie's alienation as a result of Garfield's spurning for the love of his inanimate replacement for Jon, in the form of Pookie, is obviously a compelling metaphor for post-colonial AIDS isolation. Alone in the confusing mire of mixed signals that is their home, poor Garfield has no choice but to seek solace in the soft, safe, squishy bosom of Pookie, denying the pain and self-loathing so apparent in his everyday encounters. Odie, much like Hillary to Bill, pointlessly attempts again and again to win the affections of a reckless, wanton, yet powerful force who has become consumed by his meager life, ironically encouched in power. Jon's unrealized quest for gratification is symbolic of the fall of Communism and is a clever representation of the fall of the wall and the troubles of subsequent unification. Supplanted in a landscape of repression and denial, our three protagonists seek comfort in their base desires: coffee becomes the drug of choice, providing escape from the hell that is life, much like today's "raver" youth seeking comfort in "ecstasy" and "techno". Woe to he/she who proceeds beyond the cover of this prophetic tome! Another masterpiece accomplishment by Davis, sure to keep him in literary courses of the future.
About the books........1998-10-21
I like Garfield. He is the greatest cat and funniest I have ever read. He is great and funny. He is MAD PHAT. He always makes me say WORD when I get a new book.

"GARFIELD! Stop giving the dog coffee!".......2003-07-28
Before I got into Calvin and Hobbes when I was little, my introduction to comics was none other than everybody's favorite cat, Garfield. And even in my early twenties, I can say proudly that I still read him. Any time I'm feeling down or need a good laugh, that's when I pull out a Garfield book. "Garfield: Pulls His Weight" is a hilarious collection of some of Garfield's funniest moments.
Nothing ever changes, as Garfield is always faced with the same obstacles; dieting, surviving Mondays, putting up with his not-so-bright owner, kicking Odie off the table, and much more. This book's no different from the rest, but it's still funny every time I read it.
Jim Davis has it down when it comes to creating hilarious situations for Garfield and his owner. It's almost impossible not to crack a smile when reading some of the strips. Most of the time you will run into a strip or two that will get you laughing, even if you don't want to!
"Garfield: Pulls His Weight" is a very funny collection of Garfield strips, and I recommend it to any Garfield fans out there. If you're looking for a few laughs or just want some entertainment, this is something that is bound to fulfill your needs. Garfield never gets boring, and I have no problem admitting to that.
GARFIELD RULES!.......2000-06-24
Everybody out there keep buying Garfield books! They can be worth a lot of money someday and can become collector's items! I'm always going to keep all of mine so when I have kids they can read them!
a good book.......1999-10-22
Garfield is one of the best comic strips ever. I like all ofhis books. Garfield rules!!!!!!!!
Very funny.......1998-09-19
Another of Jim Davis's funny Garfield books. It has all kinds of jokes about things like shedding, kicking Odie off of the table, and all of the regular jokes about Nermal and Garfield's birthday. I reaaly recommened this book.
sad to see an old friend die.......1997-12-15
For many years I have enjoyed reading Garfield. He was always one of my favorite characters and I own many of his early books. In his latest books (including the 26th) I noticed that the strips seemed different. They weren't as fun to read. They were missing something. Recently I found out what that 'something' was.
Being a big fan of comic strips, I bought a book that told about the strips and also about the cartoonist. I read in that book that Jim Davis no longer draws his own strip any more. He now hires someone else to draw it. He still supplies the ideas, but he is now concentrating on turning the strip into an advertisement for Garfield products.
The missing part? The strip no longer has a soul. Mr. Davis sold it to a T-shirt company.
It is hard for me to understand how someone could do something like that to his own creation.
